When should I get a quote for my removal?

Edward would always advise that you initiate organising quotations for your upcoming relocation between four and eight weeks before your expected move date. This gives enough time for you to compare your quotes and for your removal company to arrange all the necessary planning. However, don’t worry if you don’t have that long, we’ve helped clients with as little as a few days’ notice and our team are experienced in knowing what needs to be done to ensure we’re prepared for your move.

What should I do if I don't have a moving date yet?

If you are planning on moving, now would be the right time to ask for our advice. If you do not have a moving date or if you’re not exactly sure where you are moving to, we will still be able to provide you with an initial moving cost. This will allow you to plan your finances and time accordingly.

What do I do if I haven't secured a new home by the time I need to move?

This happens frequently. We’re able to store your consignment in our secure warehouse until you are ready for delivery.

Do you have different packing options?

Yes we do have different packing options which are all outlined in our Packing Guide. If you would like to know the additional cost to complete a ‘fragile pack’ and a ‘full pack’ then ask Edward to quote for them separately so you can make an informed decision on which option most works for you.

Are you able to move my high value art work?

Yes, we operate a team of specialist art handlers who complete all of our art storage, art transport and installation assignments.

How much will my removal cost?

The cost is very different for each move. At Edward Miles we base our quotations on the volume of effects to be packed and moved and the distance between both addresses. If you would like an exact cost for your relocation then we will arrange for Edward to come and do a site visit.

Do you provide insurance for my move?

Yes, we work with specialist industry approved insurers. Each move we undertake comes with a standard cover of £50,000.00 per vehicle, per trip. Should the contents that we are moving exceed that amount, further liability cover can easily be arranged prior to the move.

Are there any additional costs which aren’t outlined in your quotations?

This is a really important question to ask your removal company. Our quotations detail all of the costs involved unless outlined otherwise in the exclusions section. These are usually unknown third party costs which predominantly apply to international relocations. We will make sure we fully explain any exclusions.

Can I access my belongings whilst they're in storage?

Yes, however we do ask for 48 hours’ notice so that we can bring your storage container(s) forward in preparation for your arrival. It is also in the interest of security that we pre-authorise your access to our storage warehouse.
